Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but you can expect a short, stinging sensation after the strip is pulled. If you are worried about being sensitive, make sure your hair is not too long. Don’t shave or trim between your wax appointment and if able, take an ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment (consult with your physician before taking medications).
Ultimately, continuous waxing causes finer & less hairs and therefore, waxing becomes less painful. If you follow your post-treatment instructions and come in on your recommended schedule, you should be a HAPPY CAMPER by your 3rd visit.

We use hard wax that is ideal for all & sensitive skin. It is allergenic free, doesn’t contain colophonium, is vegan friendly, and doesn’t contain animal products. Hard wax does not require cloth strips for removal and has a low temperature that goes on warm. It sets and hardens and shrink wraps around the hair rather than adhering to the skin. This hard wax creates a less painful removal and won’t leave you sticky!

No. Waxing actually has the opposite effect. Hair that is removed at the roots grows finer and softer over time.

Yes, of course! Being on your cycle is not a cause for you to reschedule your appointment. All clients will still be able to be seen as long as they have a tampon, menstrual cup or disc in during the waxing treatment. However, you should avoid hair removal 2 days before your cycle & 2 days after. You will be more sensitive to waxing when on your cycle or just before (always allow a 5 day period because of water retention and comfort).

Of course! I got waxes during both of my pregnancies. Waxing during your pregnancy is perfectly normal and not harmful to you or your baby at all. Your skin may be a little more sensitive during this special time and we suggest consulting your physician for any other concerns.

If this is your very first wax, you might start to see those hairs peek through around 2 weeks after your wax or even before.
For regulars, you'll see your first signs of hairs peeking through around the 2 week mark.
In either case, you won't need to come for another wax until 4 weeks after your previous wax!

It is highly recommended that you do not shave between waxing appointments because it WILL make hair and roots thicker, stronger and therefore, more resistant to future waxes. The first couple of waxes may not be perfect and you may not be super smooth. Hair grows in 3 different cycles, so at the time of your wax, you might see a mixture of short hairs and long hairs. There also might be some breakage resulting in some hairs not being pulled out from the root. Be patient! This is a journey and as you continue to wax, the hair volume and thickness will reduce and get you those smooth results!

A day or 2 before your wax appointment, gently exfoliate to release all ingrown hairs and dead skin cells. Also, drink plenty of water so that your skin is as hydrated as possible.
On the day of, we suggest you take a warm shower to soften the skin and open the pores. In the areas getting waxed, try not to put on any lotions or creams as the oils in the product will prevent the wax from grabbing onto the hairs. Your hair should be a quarter of an inch which is about a 2 week growth from a shave or a 3 to 4 week growth from a wax. Lastly, DO NOT TRIM your hairs. If it is too long, we will trim it for you.

For those getting any area of the face waxed:
These types of medications/acne medications increase the rate at which your skin exfoliates so waxing could potentially remove the skin as well as hair. Please let your esthetician know immediately if you are on any medications such as these.
Also, be aware that chemical peels, laser, and microdermabrasion can also affect skin integrity during facial waxes.
